Chew Win Chen aka Okui Lala is an artist and cultural worker based in Penang, Malaysia. Okui looks into diasporic indentities and migratory background to engage in conversations and performances. 

In 2016, she was invited as the artist in residence for Baan Noorg’s 365 Days: LIFE MUSE, model study for the Nongpo community’s foreign labourers and is also a recipient of the Japan Foundation Asia Centre Fellowship Grant 2017 for her artistic research project on Migration, Mobilities and Identities in Myanmar and Japan. Okui is also a collective member of Ruang Kongsi, a space for discussion and responces along arc of arts,culture and social.
